Origin country
Uganda
One of Africa's largest coffee producers and, by volume, predominantly a robusta producer — Uganda is part of robusta's documented native range in the region, alongside smaller-volume arabica grown at higher altitude on the slopes of Mount Elgon and the Rwenzori Mountains. Coffee is a major export crop and rural livelihood, grown overwhelmingly by smallholders rather than estates. See CoffeeHQ's East African coffee-culture article for Uganda's own domestic preparation traditions, distinct from its export profile.
