Do not fill above the maximum mark; boiling water can eject from the spout.
What it is
The kettle almost everyone already owns. For immersion brewing — French press, cold brew steeping, AeroPress — the water arrives in the vessel and the pour has no work to do, so a standard kettle is simply sufficient. It becomes a limitation only when the pour itself is part of the method.
How it works
An element heats to boiling and switches off. Water off the boil is above the range most brewing recommends, so the usual technique is to boil and wait rather than to control the temperature.
